Ian Warburton
Ian Warburton
b. 1947
When I moved to France in 2004 and became the custodian of an old farmhouse, I began planting trees and turned a rather bare couple of acres of pastureland into the beginnings of a woodland. Now, our house has become a hidden house.
These paintings are not topographical. They are made over weeks as everything, including light, shade, and density, changes.
They are, I hope, paintings about the spirit of the place.
Ian has exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, The Museum of Modern Art for Wales and at The Museum and Art Gallery, Worcester.
